When is the best time to travel to Koh Samui
If you are planning a trip to Koh Samui to enjoy the beaches and outdoor activities, the best time to go is during the peak season. The ideal months to travel to Thailand are from December to April. During these months you will see the least amount of rain.
After the peak season, you can still enjoy a fun vacation from May to September. However, you may experience the occasional rainstorm. The great thing about rainstorms in Koh Samui is that they don’t last long. The rain comes down the most in October and November.
International holidays such as Christmas, New Years, and Halloween are all very popular times for people to visit Koh Samui, and you can expect it to be busier during these holidays.

Chaweng Beach
Chaweng Beach is the main stop for many travelers coming to Koh Samui. It is close to the airport and it is the most developed area on the island. There are budget conscious accommodations, restaurants, and activities to be enjoyed by all in Lamai. There are accommodations right on the beach, as well as in town for those who want to stay in the heart of the city. The beach is great for snorkeling, swimming, and other water sports. In town, you will find lots of shopping options and spas.

Bophut
Bophut is less busy that both Lamai and Chaweng. The village is very welcoming to travelers and has a happy, chill vibe. Many find it ideal for family vacations, with kids, as the nightlife scene is tamer than the other hot spots in Koh Samui. You will still be able to enjoy a night out; it just won’t get as crazy as if you were going clubbing in Chaweng, which is suitable for many people who don’t like crowds. The Fishermans village is one of the main attractions, and it is open during the day and evening for travelers and locals to enjoy the festivities.

Angthong National Marine Park is a highlight of the island. The marine park consists of several small islands, with ideal water for snorkeling and diving. Take a boat trip through the park to see the beautiful scenery Koh Samui has to offer and stop off at the beaches to go for a swim in the crystal clear waters.
